New Zealand (08 Nights / 09 Days Itinerary)


Day 01: Arrive Christchurch Arrive Christchurch. Transfer to hotel. Overnight at hotel.

Day 02 : City tour of Christchurch

Breakfast at hotel. A Canterbury Leisure Tours vehicle will pick you up from your hotel for your transfer to the departure point of your tour. At 9.00am join your coach to commence a half day Discover Christchurch - Morning Tour. The trip begins by covering the central city highlights including the botanical gardens, Museum and Art Centre, the Avon river, Bridge of Remembrance, the city's new pop up container mall and many other CBD highlights. Please note that the tour of the CBD can change daily due to road closures and new areas re-opening. On leaving the inner city, the tour travels to Mona Vale an historic homestead and gardens. Up to the Sign of the Takahe, an historic building providing spectacular views over the city, Canterbury Plains and the Southern Alps, then over the Port Hills to the Port of Lyttleton, through the harbour tunnel to the seaside suburb of Sumner and cave rock before returning to the central city. Tour concludes at approximately 12.00pm, at which time hotel drop offs will commence.

Day 03 : Christchurch / Mount Cook / Queenstown

Breakfast at hotel. Travel across the Canterbury Plains to reach Mount Cook around lunchtime. A rare opportunity here to take an optional scenic flight for an overview of Mount Cook’s ice falls, snow fields and glaciers. Your journey continues over the Lindis Pass and through the Kawarau Gorge to Queenstown.

Day 04 : Day at leisure Breakfast at hotel. Day at leisure.
Overnight at hotel.

Day 05 : Milford Sound Excursion Breakfast at hotel. An early start as you follow Lake Wakatipu via Kingston arriving in Te Anau for a morning tea break. Follow the shores of Lake Te Anau before entering the Eglington Valley. Pass the mirror lakes and travel through the avenue of the disappearing mountain. Our spectacular drive continues through the mountains, valley and forests of the Fiordland National Park, with a dramatic descent into Milford Sound. A fascinating launch cruise to Bowen Falls and Mitre Peak is included. Later today return by coach to Queenstown.

Day 06 : Queenstown / Franz Josef Breakfast at hotel. A memorable trip through some of the most magnificent scenery in New Zealand. Travel via Lake Wanaka and Lake Hawea and over the Haast Pass to the beech forests of Mt Aspiring National Park.

Day 07: Day at leisure / Franz Josef Breakfast at hotel. A full day free to explore the Glacier area. You may like to enjoy a guided walk to the Glacier terminal, or take a scenic flight for a bird’s eye view of this spectacular terrain.

Day 08 : Franz Josef / Greymouth / Christchurch Breakfast at hotel. This travel northwards following along the coast to Greymouth. Board the scenic Tranz Alpine Express train, a journey famous for its spectacular mountain scenery as it traverses the Southern Alps to Christchurch.. Upon arrival in Christchurch you will be transferred to your hotel.

Day 09: Departure from Christchurch Breakfast at hotel. Transfer to the airport for the departure flight.
