Golden Triangle with Golden Temple Day 1 Delhi Day 2 – Delhi Full day city tour-0900 hrs. Breakfast at the hotel. Then a full day city tour starting from panoramic view of India Gate and President House, proceeding to – The Qutub Minar a Historical building which was built hundreds of years ago which is an excellent example of Afghan architecture; the Minar is 72.5 Mts. High. and is the tallest freestanding structure in India. Lotus Temple – Bahai house of worship built in 1986,which is a latest addition in the treasure trove of Delhi. Shaped in the form of a blossoming Lotus is a poetical expression of architect's ideas in Marble. After Lunch a visit to The Humayun's Tomb, which is a Grand mausoleum built for the emperor by his senior queen, this is one of the first Mughal Garden Tomb and said to be the inspiration of The Taj Mahal. The Humayun's Tomb is a World Heritage Monument. Rajghat – A place where Mahatma Gandhi (The father of the Nation) was cremated and a memorial for Mahatma Gandhi was built thereafter. Red Fort – Mughal Emperor Shahjehan built the massive construction of red sandstone, Enjoy the Pedestrian Rickshaw Ride in Chandani Chowlk Market. Also visit the mosque nearby the fort better known as Jama Masjid, which is the largest mosque in India built by Shahjehan (The Mughal Emperor) in 1656. Evening at leisure. Overnight stay at the Hotel (B) Day 3 – Delhi to Amritsar 0645 Pick up and Transfer to Railway Station 0720 Depart to Amritsar (By Swarna Shatabdi Express Train). 1305 Arrival and Transfer to Hotel Amritsar is in Punjab state in Northern India and is the spiritual capital of the Sikh religion. City was founded by Ram Das, the fourth guru, on land given by Akbar in 1577. Amritsar is the Administrative Centre and a trade cum industrial city where carpets, fabrics of goat hair, and handicrafts are made. It lies on the main GT road from Chandigarh to Jalandhar to Amritsar to Lahore, Pakistan. Lahore, which was the historic capital of the pre-partition Punjab is about 50 Km west of Amritsar. Overnight stay at the Hotel (B) Day 4 Amritsar 0900 Hrs Amritsar has many claims to fame. It is the holy city of the Sikhs, very intimately connected with the colourful history of the proud, martial race. It is also a showpiece of the prosperity and wealth of the state of Punjab. It also holds strategic importance due to its close proximity to Pakistan, the Attari Wagha Indo-Pak border being just about 30 km away. The important place to visit in Amritsar is Golden Temple, the holy Sikh shrine. Jallianwala Bagh, also very near to the Golden temple is an important monument dedicated to hundreds of martyrs who lost their lives in a massacre on April 13, 1919 A.D. Overnight stay at the Hotel (B) Day 5 Amritsar to Agra 1105 Hrs Delhi Arrival, pick up and Drive to Agra via Sikandra A visit to Agra via Sikandara Sikandra – Situated across the Yamuna river, houses the tomb of Mughal Emperor Akbar. An interesting feature here is that one cannot see all four minarets from one point as one of them is always behind the tomb. After lunch visit The Taj Mahal, it was built by Mughal Emperor Shahjahan, a mausoleum in the memory of his beloved wife Queen Mumtaj Mahal. The special interests here are the Jilo Khana, the gardens, and the twin tombs of both Shahjehan (The Empror) and Mumtaj Mahal (The Queen). Proceed for Agra Fort (1 km. Approx.) a fort which is situated on the banks of river Yamuna and within the city center. Here the places of interest are Moti Maszid, a white marble mosque Diwan-E-Aam, Diwan-E-Khas, Jehangir's (A Mughal Emperor) Palace, Sheesh Mahal and Khaas Mahal. Overnight stay at the Hotel (B) Day 6 – Agra to Jaipur A visit to Jaipur via Fatehpur Sikri Fatehpur Sikri – A Fort which was built during the second half of the 16th century by the Emperor Akbar, it was the capital of the Mughal Empire for some time. The monuments and temples are all in a uniform architectural style. On arrival to Jaipur Check- In at the Hotel. Half-day city tour The Jantar Mantar, a stone observatory built by an astronomer king. The City Palace, which was the principal residence of the former ruling family and is known for its stunning architecture. Return to hotel in the late afternoon. Rest of the time at leisure. Overnight stay at the Hotel (B). Day 7 – Jaipur Visit to Amer Fort with Elephant ride. The Kachchawahas ruled from Amber, 11 km from Jaipur, for seven centuries. With a history so old, as expected there is a lot of the past that can be traced in its archeological history. While many of the early structures have either disappeared or ruined, those dating from the16th century on are in a remarkable state of preservation. Visit the forts on elephants back. The experience of visiting the palace will be so good that it cannot be described. One can ride on the elephant to the former capital of the royal city. Overlooking Amber Fort are two other fortresses Jaigarh and Nahargarh. Evening free. Overnight stay at the Hotel ( B) Day 8 – Jaipur to Delhi Free Time till departure to International Airport. |
