Amazing Orissa (Itinerary – 8 Days)


Day 1 Delhi
On arrival meet and greet at the airport by representative and transfer to the Hotel. Overnight stay at the Hotel.

Day 2 – Delhi – Bhubaneswar
Breakfast then transfer to the Airport for flight to Bhubenaswer. Upon arrival, transfer to the Hotel. Overnight stay at the Hotel.

Bhubneswar: One of the many names of Lord Shiva, is the capital of Orissa. The former "City of Temples" is fast moving into the realm of 'modernization'. Hundreds of temples through, out of the around ten thousand, which are said to have graced the city once, still survive. The Lingraj temple dominates the city and there are many more excellent representatives of Orissa's superb architecture. Air-conditioned shopping complexes and high-rise towers for office and residential accommodation are also changing the skyline.

Day 3 - Bhubaneswar
Breakfast then drive to Chilika at Barkul. Enroute visit to 2nd century B.C. Jain sites Khandagiri and Udaygiri caves, take a boat to visit Kalijaai temple and Nalabana - [(Bird sanctuary) during October to March to witness vast expanse of colorful migratory birds flocking in more than 10 hundred thousand, numbering to 200 species]. Overnight stay at the Hotel (B).

Day 4 – Puri
Breakfast - Drive to Puri. Enroute visit to Dhauli (Santi Stupa - the Peace Pagoda), Pipili (Appliqe village) and Konark (Sun temple). Overnight stay at the Hotel. (B)

Day 5 – Puri
Breakfast Early morning visit of Lord Jangannath temple, Gundicha temple and drive to Chilika at Satpara to see Dolphins. [Satpara – which is a interesting site has cruises to sea-mouth viewing rare Irrawaddy Dolphins during winter (October - March) to witness vast expanse of colorful migratory birds flocking in more than 10 hundred thousand, number of 200 species] in Puri. Overnight stay at the Hotel (B)

Day 6 – Puri - Delhi
Breakfast then Puri departure and transfer to Airport. Delhi arrival, transfer to hotel Overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 7 – Delhi
Breakfast followed by a Full day city tour. Starting from panoramic view of India Gate and President House, proceeding to – Qutub Minar a Historical building which was built hundreds of years ago which is an excellent example of Afghan architecture and also it is the tallest freestanding structure in India. Lotus Temple – Bahai house of worship built in 1986, which is a latest addition in the treasure trove of Delhi. Shaped in the form of a blossoming Lotus is a poetical expression of architect's ideas in Marble.

After Lunch (by own account), a visit to Humayun's Tomb, which is a Grand mausoleum built for the emperor by his senior queen, this is one of the first Mughal Garden Tomb and said to be the inspiration of Taj Mahal. The Humayun's Tomb is a World Heritage Monument. Rajghat – A place where Mahatama Gandhi ( The father of the Nation) was cremated and a memorial for Mahatma Gandhi was built thereafter. Red Fort – Mughal Emperor Shahjehan built the massive construction of red sandstone (Note: Sunday it is closed), Enjoy the Pedestrian Rickshaw Ride in Chandani Chowlk Market. Also visit the mosque nearby the fort better known, as Jama Masjid is the largest mosque in India built by Shahjehan (The Mughal Empror) in 1656. On the way back to the hotel a visit to Connaught Place market, which is there in Central Delhi.

Day 8 – Delhi
Breakfast then transfer to Airport.
