Itinerary 8 Days Discover the South in India


Day 1 – Bangalore
On arrival meet and greet at the airport by representative and transfer to the Hotel. Overnight stay at the Hotel.

Day 2 – Bangalore - Hassan
After breakfast, drive to Hassan en-route visit Belur, Halebid and Sravanabelagola. Then you have the evening to spend at your leisure. Overnight stay at the hotel. (B)

Hassan: Located in the South Indian state of Karnataka at around 187 km from the state capital Bangalore, Hassan extends from 13°01/’ North to 76°10/’ East. Being the nearest railhead to Belur, Halebid, and Shravanbelagola, Hassan is an ideal base to explore these historical sites. The region of Hassan was under the control the Hoysalas from 11th to 13th century AD. It was during this period that the great temples of Belur and Halebid were constructed. Hassan was also greatly influenced by Jainism. It became a well-known centre of Jain literature.

Day 3 – Hassen – Mysore

Breakfast then drive to Mysore. Upon arrival, check in at the hotel. Afternoon Sightseeing of Mysore covering Maharajas Palace, Art Galery & Chammundi Hill & an evening excursion to the Illuminated Brindavan Gardens. Overnight stay at the Hotel (B).

Mysore: Mysore city was the capital of the old royal Mysore province. The word Mysore expands to "Mahishasurana Ooru" which means the town of Mahishasura. The story goes that the demon Mahishasura who was killed by goddess Chamundeshwari atop the Chamundi hill near Mysore, and hence it was named as Mysore. Ever since, the Mysore royal families have worshipped Chamundeshwari as the palace deity. Hills dedicated to her stand at the eastern end of Mysore town today.

Day 4 – Mysore - Ooty

After breakfast, head on to Ooty. On arrival, check in at the hotel. You have the rest of the day to spend at your leisure. Overnight stay at the Hotel. (B) Ooty: “Queen of hill stations” It is situated at an altitude of 2,240 meters above sea level. An added attraction for the tourists to Udagamandalam is the mountain train journey on a ratchet and pinion track which commences from Kallar, near Mettupalayam and wends its way through many hair-raising curves and fearful tunnels and chugs along beside deep ravines full of verdant vegetation, gurgling streams and tea gardens.

Day 5 – Ooty
Breakfast, followed by a full day sightseeing tour of Ooty and Coonoor, covering visits to the Botanical Gardens, the Lake, Doddabetta Peak. Also the toy train between Ooty / Coonoor is an interesting attraction. Overnight stay at the Hotel (B)

Day 6 – Ooty
After breakfast, you have the entire day to spend at your leisure. Overnight stay at the Hotel (B)

Day 7 – Ooty –Bangalore

After breakfast, drive to Bangalore (estimated time - 08 Hrs) Check in at the hotel upon arrival. Overnight stay at the hotel. (B)

Bangalore: Bangalore a town or a city, is because, in reality it's a global village. With temples selling incense sticks against computerized bills, sprawling golf courses that cater to the space-starved Japanese tourists on weekends, and software moguls making it the silicon bazaar of India. Catering to the cosmopolitan Bangaloreans are restaurants dishing out everything from Mexican to Polynesian fare, the environment plays a supporting role with a cool, sunny skyline that encompasses satellite-dish studded terraces, flowering trees and traditional domes in one glance.

Day 8 – Bangalore

Breakfast, then free time before the transfer to the Airport
